Doxycycline Malaria Tablets are a type of antibiotic used to treat and prevent malaria. They also treat acne and other bacterial infections. The active ingredient, doxycycline, belongs to the tetracycline class of antibiotics. These tablets work by stopping the growth of bacteria, helping to clear infections and reduce inflammation.
Doxycycline Malaria Tablets treat acne by reducing the bacteria that cause acne and decreasing inflammation. They also treat other conditions such as respiratory infections, urinary tract infections, and certain sexually transmitted infections. Additionally, they prevent malaria in areas where the disease is common.
Doxycycline Malaria Tablets work by inhibiting the protein synthesis of bacteria. This action stops the bacteria from growing and multiplying, which helps to clear the infection. In the case of acne, doxycycline reduces the number of bacteria on the skin and decreases the production of irritating chemicals by white blood cells, leading to less inflammation and fewer acne lesions.
Doxycycline Malaria Tablets are suitable for adults and children over 12 years old. They are not suitable for pregnant or breastfeeding women, children under 12 years old, or individuals with a known allergy to doxycycline or other tetracycline antibiotics. People with liver or kidney problems, or those taking certain medications, should consult their doctor or pharmacist before using this medication.
Take Doxycycline Malaria Tablets once daily, preferably in the morning.
To treat acne, take Doxycycline Malaria Tablets for a period of 6 to 12 weeks, as directed by your doctor.
Like all medications, Doxycycline Malaria Tablets can cause side effects. Below are some common, uncommon, and serious side effects.
