How do Nurofen Caplets work for pain relief?

Nurofen 200mg tablets contain ibuprofen, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID). They target and reduce the production of prostaglandins, which are chemicals in your body that cause inflammation, pain, and fever. This helps you feel better faster and keeps symptoms in check.

Who can use Nurofen Caplets?

Nurofen Caplets are suitable for adults and children aged 12 and over. However, at Click2Pharmacy, we can only sell these painkiller tablets for adults over 18.

Nurofen Caplets may not be suitable if:

  • You’re allergic to ibuprofen or other NSAIDs.
  • You have severe kidney, liver, or heart issues.
  • You are pregnant.
  • You have previously had gastrointestinal issues.

It’s always best to ask your doctor or pharmacist if you are in doubt whether Nurofen Caplets are suitable for you.

  • Swallow 1 or 2 caplets with water up to three times a day as needed.
  • Leave at least 4 hours between doses.
  • Don’t take more than 6 caplets in 24 hours.
  • Use the lowest effective dosage and only for as long as you need it.
  • Talk to your doctor or pharmacist if your symptoms persist for more than 10 days.

Nurofen Caplet FAQs

Nurofen Caplets are fast-acting and usually start working within 30 minutes to an hour, bringing you quick relief when you need it most.

It’s best to avoid alcohol while taking these caplets, as it can increase the risk of stomach issues.

If you’re in the first 6 months of pregnancy, check with your doctor before use. Don’t take Nurofen in the last trimester. If you’re breastfeeding, it’s best to consult a pharmacist or doctor first.

Yes, Nurofen Caplets are available over the counter at Click2Pharmacy’s Pain Relief Clinic. We offer quick delivery options, so you can have pain relief on hand whenever it’s needed, and no prescription is required.

If you have asthma, it’s best to check with your doctor or pharmacist before taking Nurofen Caplets. Each caplet contains ibuprofen, which can sometimes trigger or worsen asthma symptoms in certain people.

Your doctor or pharmacist can advise on whether Nurofen is safe for you based on your medical history and any other medications you might be taking.

If you have high cholesterol or high blood pressure, you should consult your doctor or pharmacist before taking Nurofen Caplets. Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) like ibuprofen can sometimes increase blood pressure or may interact with other medications you’re taking to manage these conditions.

Your GP or pharmacist can advise you on whether Nurofen Caplets are suitable for you and suggest alternatives if needed.

If you’re choosing between Nurofen Caplets and Nurofen Tablets, you might be wondering what the difference is.

Both painkillers work in the same way to relieve pain and reduce inflammation because they contain the same active ingredient, ibuprofen.

The main difference is their shape. Nurofen Caplets are slim and shaped like capsules, which many people find easier to swallow. Nurofen Tablets are round or oval and can sometimes be harder to swallow, especially if you have trouble with larger pills.

There’s no difference between them in terms of how well they work, so it really comes down to which shape you find more comfortable to take.
