Medication Name | Nurofen Express Liquid Capsules |
Medication Form | Liquid capsules |
Used to treat | Pain, inflammation, or fever relief. |
Active Ingredients | Ibuprofen |
Strength | 200mg |
Patient Information Leaflet | Nurofen Express Liquid Capsules Patient Information Leaflet |
Nurofen Express Liquid Capsules quickly relieve various types of pain, like headaches, migraines, toothaches, rheumatic pain and muscle aches. They are also effective for lowering fever and easing cold and flu symptoms.
The gel capsule makes them especially easy to swallow, even if you have discomfort in your mouth or throat from dental pain or a sore throat. The Nurofen liquid inside will absorb quickly, so the ibuprofen starts working faster than traditional tablets. This rapid relief makes Nurofen Express 200 mg an ideal choice for effective pain and inflammation management.
Nurofen Express capsules contain ibuprofen, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) which reduces pain, swelling, and fever by blocking chemicals in the body that cause inflammation.
Nurofen Express pain relief 200mg liquid is suitable for adults and children aged 12 and older. However, at Click2Pharmacy, we can only sell this medicine for use by adults over 18.
Liquid Nurofen Capsules are not recommended for people allergic to ibuprofen, aspirin, or similar medications. Those with a history of stomach ulcers, kidney or liver issues, or heart disease should consult a doctor before use.
If your symptoms do not improve and Nurofen products are required for more than 10 days, you should speak to your doctor or pharmacist.
Like all medications, Nurofen Express pain relief may cause side effects, although not everyone experiences them.
If you experience severe side effects, such as difficulty breathing, skin reactions, or signs of stomach perforation or bleeding (e.g. vomiting blood), stop taking Nurofen Express pain relief immediately and contact NHS 111 or visit A&E.
For a full list of side effects, please consult the Nurofen Express Liquid Capsules Patient Information Leaflet.
If you notice any side effects, inform your doctor or pharmacist, even if they are not listed here. You can also report side effects directly through the Yellow Card Scheme. Reporting helps to improve the understanding of this medication’s safety.

“Dental pain can be uncomfortable and distracting. Nurofen Express Capsules provide fast relief to help ease discomfort, allowing you to get on with your day. Quick-absorbing ibuprofen works well to reduce inflammation and pain right where it’s needed.”

Nurofen Express capsules are designed to break down easily in the body. This means liquid Nurofen for adults is absorbed into the bloodstream nearly twice as fast as standard ibuprofen tablets and typically relieves pain within 15 – 30 minutes.
It is best to avoid alcohol while taking Nurofen Express, as it may increase the risk of side effects.
Yes, you can generally take Nurofen Express if you have high cholesterol, but it’s best to use it cautiously. Nurofen Express contains ibuprofen, an NSAID, which can carry a slightly increased risk of heart-related issues, especially if used frequently or at high doses. Since high cholesterol is already a risk factor for heart disease, using Nurofen Express as directed is important.
No, Nurofen Express should not be used during the last trimester of pregnancy. Consult your doctor or pharmacist if you are in the first six months of pregnancy or are breastfeeding.
If you have high blood pressure, you can take Nurofen (ibuprofen) occasionally, but it’s best to do so under a doctor’s guidance. Ibuprofen, like other NSAIDs, can sometimes raise blood pressure, especially if used frequently or at high doses, as it may cause the body to retain fluid and cause kidney or bowel problems.
NSAIDs like ibuprofen can trigger asthma symptoms or even cause an asthma attack in certain individuals, especially those with “aspirin-sensitive” asthma. If you take Nurofen as a painkiller, be aware of wheezing, coughing, or shortness of breath and stop use if any symptoms worsen.
It’s generally not recommended to take other NSAID painkillers or aspirin with Nurofen, as combining them can increase the risk of side effects. Since both Nurofen and aspirin are NSAIDs, taking them together may put extra strain on the stomach and kidneys.
If you’re taking low-dose aspirin (typically 75 mg) for heart protection, consult your doctor before adding Nurofen, as the combination can increase gastrointestinal risks. Your doctor or pharmacist can help determine if this combination is safe for you, especially if you have any underlying health conditions or are using aspirin for heart health.
However, it’s usually safe to take Nurofen with paracetamol because they work differently and don’t have the same combined risk. Many people use this combination to manage pain more effectively.
