Maybe – it depends on the specific ingredients in the cold and flu tablets. The active ingredient in Nurofen Tablets is ibuprofen, so you need to make sure you’re not having more than one dose of ibuprofen.

Many cold and flu remedies contain pain-relieving ingredients like paracetamol, and while Ibuprofen can be taken alongside paracetamol if needed, combining them may raise the risk of side effects.

Nurofen ibuprofen can interact with some blood pressure medications and may reduce their effectiveness. Regular use of NSAIDs like ibuprofen can also increase blood pressure. If you have high blood pressure or are taking blood pressure medication, consult your doctor or pharmacist before taking Nurofen.

You should swallow Nurofen tablets whole with water. Do not crush or break them, as this can change how the medicine works in your body and make it less reliable.

For adults and children over 12, the usual dose is one or two tablets (200-400mg) every four to six hours as needed, with a maximum of six tablets (1200 mg) in 24 hours. Do not exceed the recommended dose.

Children aged 12 to 18 should not take Nurofen for more than 3 days in a row, and adults should speak to their doctor or pharmacist if pain relief is required for more than 10 days.

If you have high cholesterol, you should consult your doctor before taking Nurofen Tablets. Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) like ibuprofen, the active ingredient in Nurofen, can sometimes increase the risk of heart-related side effects, especially with long-term use. Your doctor or pharmacist can advise you on the safest pain relief option based on your health needs.

Yes, Nurofen Tablets may help relieve mild neuralgia pain. Neuralgia is nerve pain, often causing sharp or burning sensations and ibuprofen, the active ingredient in Nurofen, works by reducing inflammation, which may help ease discomfort. However, for persistent or severe neuralgia, it’s best to consult a doctor or pharmacist, as other treatments may be more targeted for nerve pain.

While Nurofen (ibuprofen) is usually safe for those with diabetes, long-term use of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) like ibuprofen may affect kidney function, which is a concern for some people with diabetes. NSAIDs can also potentially interact with certain diabetes medications. Your doctor can advise on the safest pain relief options for you based on your specific health needs.

Yes, Nurofen Tablets contain ibuprofen, which helps reduce inflammation as well as pain and swelling. This makes them useful for treating symptoms associated with inflammation, like joint or muscle pain and headaches.
