How does Ovestin Cream work?

However, Ovestin Cream may not be suitable for everyone. You should not use Ovestin Cream if you:

• Have a history of breast cancer or other oestrogen-dependent tumours
• Have unexplained vaginal bleeding
• Have a history of blood clots or thrombosis
• Have liver disease
• Are pregnant or breastfeeding

How to apply Ovestin Cream

1. Wash your hands thoroughly before applying the cream.
2. Remove the cap from the tube and screw the applicator onto the tube.
3. Squeeze the tube to fill the applicator with the prescribed amount of cream.
4. Unscrew the applicator from the tube and replace the cap on the tube.
5. Lie down or stand with one leg raised on a chair.
6. Gently insert the applicator into the vagina as far as it comfortably goes.
7. Slowly press the plunger to release the cream into the vagina.
8. Remove the applicator and wash it with warm, soapy water.
9. Wash your hands again after applying the cream.

Apply Ovestin Cream once daily, preferably at bedtime, for the first few weeks of treatment. After initial improvement, your doctor may recommend reducing the frequency to two or three times a week.

The duration of treatment with Ovestin Cream varies depending on individual needs. Your doctor will advise you on how long to continue using the cream to manage your symptoms effectively.

Ovestin Cream Side Effects

Like all medications, Ovestin Cream can cause side effects. Below are some common, uncommon, and serious side effects you may experience.

Ovestin Cream Ingredients

Active Ingredients: The active ingredient in Ovestin Cream is estriol.

Other Ingredients: Ovestin Cream also contains cetyl palmitate, octyldodecanol, stearyl alcohol, cetyl alcohol, polysorbate 60, sorbitan monostearate, lactic acid, sodium hydroxide, chlorhexidine dihydrochloride, and purified water.

• Inform your doctor if you have a history of asthma, epilepsy, or heart disease.
• Regularly check your breasts for any changes and report any unusual findings to your doctor.
