Ovex Tablets are a type of medication used to treat threadworms, which are a common type of worm infection. The tablets contain the active ingredient mebendazole, which works by preventing the worms from being able to absorb sugars that they need to survive. This causes the worms to die off within a few days, effectively treating the infection.
Ovex Tablets are primarily used for the treatment of threadworms, which are small, white worms that can infect the human intestine. Threadworm infections are most common in children, but anyone can become infected. Symptoms of a threadworm infection can include itching around the anus, irritability, and difficulty sleeping. Ovex Tablets are also sometimes used to treat other types of worm infections, such as roundworm, hookworm, and whipworm.
Ovex Tablets contain the active ingredient mebendazole, which belongs to a group of medicines called anthelmintics. Mebendazole works by preventing the worms from being able to absorb sugars that they need to survive. This causes the worms to die off within a few days, effectively treating the infection. The dead worms are then passed out in the stool.
Ovex Tablets are suitable for adults and children over the age of 2 years old. They are not suitable for children under 2 years old. Ovex Tablets should not be used by anyone who is allergic to mebendazole or any of the other ingredients in the tablets. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, you should consult your doctor or pharmacist before taking Ovex Tablets.
To take Ovex Tablets:
Ovex Tablets should be taken as a single dose, and the dose should be repeated after 2 weeks to prevent re-infection. It is important to wash your hands and scrub under your nails before eating, after using the toilet, and before preparing food to prevent the spread of the infection. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, you should consult your doctor or pharmacist before taking Ovex Tablets.
Active Ingredients: Each tablet contains 100mg of mebendazole.
Other ingredients: The other ingredients are microcrystalline cellulose, sodium starch glycollate, maize starch, sodium saccharin, magnesium stearate, cottonseed oil hydrogenated, orange flavour, and colloidal anhydrous silica.
