Regaine for Men Extra Strength Scalp Solution contains minoxidil, believed to help by increasing blood flow to hair follicles on the scalp. This process can prevent further hair loss and promote hair regrowth in men aged 18 to 65 years who are experiencing hereditary hair loss. It’s most effective for men with hair thinning or loss at the top of the scalp. The treatment has shown the best results in men who are younger, have been losing hair for a short period, or have a smaller area of baldness.
To apply Regaine Extra Strength for Men, choose either the pump spray applicator or the extended spray-tip applicator based on your preference:
Continual use is necessary to maintain hair regrowth; results may be observed after at least 2 months of twice-daily application, but if there is no improvement after one year, consider stopping the treatment should be stopped.
Active Ingredients: Minoxidil

Avodart (Dutasteride): A prescription medication similar to Finasteride, but potentially more effective in some cases. It’s taken orally and works by inhibiting the production of DHT, a hormone involved in hair loss.
Finasteride: Another oral prescription medication that targets hair loss by blocking the action of DHT. It’s often marketed under the brand name Propecia.
Propecia: A brand of Finasteride designed to treat male pattern baldness at the crown and in the middle of the scalp.
Alpecin Caffeine Shampoo: A non-prescription shampoo that claims to stimulate hair growth directly from the scalp using caffeine to counteract hair loss.
Regaine for Men Extra Strength Foam: A foam version of the Regaine treatment that contains minoxidil, designed to be easier to apply and less messy than the liquid solution.
Hereditary hair loss, also known as androgenetic alopecia, is a common form of hair loss that affects both men and women. It is caused by genetics, hormone levels, and the ageing process. In men, it typically presents as a receding hairline and thinning on the crown, often progressing to baldness.
Regaine for Men, containing minoxidil, works for hereditary hair loss by enhancing blood flow to hair follicles. This action can prevent further hair loss and encourage the regrowth of hair. Minoxidil is thought to widen blood vessels, improve follicle function, and stimulate hair growth.
Yes, stress can cause hair loss. It may trigger conditions like telogen effluvium, where hair shifts faster than average from its growing phase into the resting phase, leading to shedding. Stress can also exacerbate other hair loss conditions, such as alopecia areata.
Results from Regaine can vary, but users may need to apply it twice daily for at least two months to start seeing results. Sometimes, noticing significant hair regrowth might take up to four months or longer. Consistent use is key to achieving and maintaining hair regrowth.
Do not use Regaine for Men Extra Strength if:
The main difference between Regaine for Men and Regaine for Men Extra Strength is the concentration of the active ingredient, minoxidil. Regaine for Men typically contains a 2% minoxidil solution, whereas Regaine for Men Extra Strength features a 5% minoxidil solution. This offers a more potent formulation for those who may not have seen the desired results with the lower concentration or who have more pronounced hair loss.
