What are Naproxen Tablets?
Naproxen Tablets are a type of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID). They are used to reduce inflammation and relieve pain. The active ingredient in these tablets is Naproxen, which helps to reduce the production of prostaglandins, substances in the body that cause inflammation and pain.
What are Naproxen Tablets used for?
Naproxen Tablets are primarily used for pain relief. They can help to alleviate pain and inflammation caused by conditions such as arthritis, gout, muscle sprains and strains, backache, period pain, and dental pain. In addition, they can also be used to reduce fever and relieve minor aches and pains due to the common cold or flu.
How do Naproxen Tablets work?
Naproxen Tablets work by blocking the action of a substance in the body called cyclo-oxygenase (COX). COX is involved in the production of prostaglandins, which cause pain, swelling and inflammation. By blocking the action of COX, Naproxen helps to reduce these symptoms.
Who are Naproxen Tablets suitable for?
Naproxen Tablets are suitable for adults and children over the age of 12 years. However, they may not be suitable for people with certain health conditions, such as those with a history of stomach ulcers or bleeding, those with severe heart, liver or kidney disease, or those who are allergic to any of the ingredients in the tablets. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should also consult their doctor or pharmacist before taking Naproxen Tablets.
How to take Naproxen Tablets
- Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.
- Do not crush or chew the tablets.
- Take the tablets with or after food to reduce the risk of stomach upset.
You should take Naproxen Tablets as directed by your doctor or pharmacist. The usual dose for pain relief is one to two tablets every 6 to 8 hours as needed. Do not exceed the recommended dose.
