What is Thrush?

Thrush is a yeast infection triggered by the fungus Candida. This condition can develop in various areas, including the mouth, throat, and genitals. Vaginal thrush is especially common in women. Although thrush is not typically a serious condition, it can cause discomfort and irritation.

How Does Canesten Internal Cream Work?

Canesten Internal Cream contains clotrimazole, an antifungal that targets the Candida yeast causing the infection. This active ingredient eliminates the fungus and relieves the symptoms of thrush, ensuring effective treatment in a single application.

Who Can Use Canesten Internal Cream?

Canesten Internal Cream is suitable for adults who have previously been diagnosed with vaginal thrush. However, it is not suitable if you:

  • Are allergic to clotrimazole or any of the cream’s ingredients
  • Are on your period, as the medication may be less effective

Before using this product, you should speak to a medical professional if you:

  • Are under 16 or over 60 years old without advice from a GP or pharmacist
  • Have had more than two thrush infections in the last six months
  • Are experiencing symptoms such as irregular bleeding or abdominal pain

If you’re still unsure whether this cream is suitable for you, read the patient information leaflet or speak with your doctor or pharmacist.
