About Airomir Inhaler
Airomir Inhaler is a widely recognised medication for asthma treatment, containing salbutamol 100mcg, a bronchodilator that helps to relieve symptoms of asthma and similar respiratory conditions.
What is Airomir Inhaler Used For?
The Airomir Inhaler treats and manages asthma by relaxing the muscles in the airways to make breathing easier.
Symptoms alleviated by Airomir include:
- Shortness of breath
- Wheezing
- Coughing
- Chest tightness
Beyond asthma, the Airomir Inhaler may also be prescribed to treat other respiratory conditions causing restricted airways, such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
How Does Airomir Inhaler Work?
The Airomir Inhaler delivers the active ingredient salbutamol to the lungs, targeting the bronchial muscles and causing them to relax. This relaxation leads to widened airways, allowing easier breathing and quick relief from asthma attacks and other uncomfortable asthma symptoms.
What Dosage Should I take?
The standard dose for adults for immediate relief of asthma symptoms is one or two puffs (100mcg per puff) of the Airomir Inhaler. In the event of an asthma attack, you can use one dose at first, and if needed, a second dose can be taken a few minutes later.
You should always use the Airomir Inhaler exactly as prescribed. If you find yourself needing to use it more often than usual, speak to one of our pharmacists or your GP for advice, as it may indicate that your asthma is not well controlled.
Who is Airomir Inhaler Suitable For?
The Airomir Inhaler is suitable for individuals requiring quick relief from asthma symptoms or needing regular asthma management.
However, it may not be suitable for you if:
- If you have a history of severe allergic reactions to salbutamol or any ingredients in the inhaler.
- Patients with certain heart conditions or irregular heartbeat.
- Individuals with severe asthma require more intensive treatment.
If you’re unsure whether the Airomir inhaler is suitable for you, speak to one of our pharmacists during your free consultation or read the NHS’s guidance on Salbutamol inhalers.
