Uses for Uniroid HC Ointment

Uniroid HC Ointment provides short-term relief from pain, irritation, and itching caused by haemorrhoids and piles. It can be used for both internal and external haemorrhoids, offering relief from discomfort when sitting, moving, or having a bowel movement. It may also help soothe soreness and reduce itching in the affected area.

How Does Uniroid-HC Ointment Work for Haemorrhoids?

Uniroid-HC Ointment is a dual-action ointment, containing two active ingredients. Hydrocortisone is a mild corticosteroid that reduces inflammation and irritation around the anus and rectum. Cinchocaine hydrochloride is a local anaesthetic to numb the area and relieve pain and itching.

Who Can Use Uniroid HC Ointment?

Uniroid HC Ointment is suitable for adults and children over 12 years of age. However, at Click2Pharmacy, we can only prescribe it to adults over the age of 18.

Do not use Uniroid Ointment if you are allergic to any of its ingredients, have tuberculosis, or have any skin infections (such as thrush) in the affected area.

How to Use Uniroid HC for Internal and External Haemorrhoids

Apply Uniroid HC Ointment twice daily (morning and evening) and after every bowel movement unless your doctor advises otherwise.

Do not use the ointment for more than 7 days. If your symptoms do not improve after this time, speak to your doctor or pharmacist.

External Use

  1. Gently wash the area around the back passage and pat it dry.
  2. Squeeze a pea-sized amount of the ointment onto your finger and gently apply it to the affected area.
  3. Wash your hands thoroughly after use.

Do not apply a dressing after using this ointment, as it can increase the risk of an allergic reaction.

Internal Use

  1. Gently clean the areas around the anus and pat it dry.
  2. Attach the nozzle applicator to the tube, then carefully insert the nozzle into the back passage.
  3. Squeeze the tube gently while slowly withdrawing the nozzle to apply the ointment internally.
  4. Wash your hands and clean the applicator thoroughly after use.
