How to use Zidoval Vaginal Gel:

Zidoval Gel is suitable for adults. Use One application of Zidoval vaginal gel (5g) inserted into the vagina once daily, at bedtime, for 5 consecutive days. The course should be completed to ensure the infection is properly treated

Zidoval side effects

If you have severe liver or kidney disease please speak to your GP before taking. The most Common side effects (may affect up to 1 in 10 people) are:

• Headache and dizziness• Stomach cramps• Being sick• Unpleasant taste in your mouth• Unusual feeling on your tongue• Dry skin• Redness of the skin (erythema)• Itching of the skin (pruritus)• Skin discomfort (burning, pain of skin/stinging)• Skin irritation• Vaginal thrush (candidiasis)• Vaginal discharge• Discomfort around your pelvis

Do not take this medication if you are pregnant or breast feeding or have severe liver/kidney problems unless your GP has advised and prescribed it for you.

Alcohol does not affect the use of zidoval gel as it is a topical preparation, however with oral metronidazole it needs to be avoided
