Lactulose Solution is a type of osmotic laxative that helps to regulate bowel movements, commonly used to treat constipation. It works by drawing water into the bowel, softening the stool and making it easier to pass. In some cases, Lactulose Solution may also be used to treat other conditions such as hepatic encephalopathy.
Lactulose Solution is suitable for adults and children who are experiencing constipation. It is also safe for use during pregnancy and breastfeeding. However, it may not be suitable for individuals with certain medical conditions such as galactose intolerance, Lapp lactase deficiency, or glucose-galactose malabsorption.
To take Lactulose Solution, follow these steps:
Lactulose Solution should be taken once or twice daily, as directed by your doctor or pharmacist. It may take a few days for the medication to take full effect, so it is important to continue taking it as prescribed.
For a full list of side effects, please refer to the patient information leaflet.
