Aknemycin is suitable for adults over the age of 16 years.
How does Aknemycin Plus work?
The two most effective components, erythromycin and tretinoin, make Aknemycin Plus a potent medicine for treating acne. Erythromycin is an antibiotic that prohibits the growth of bacteria and reduces the number of infected pimples. Tretinoin is a form of vitamin A that exfoliates the skin and unclogs the pores. This action helps to diminish spots caused by acne. Additionally, the alcohol-based formula dissolves away excessive oil and reduces inflammation on the skin.
How to use Aknemycin Plus 25ml
- Clean your face with a mild cleanser and pat the skin dry.
- Apply Aknemycin Plus 25ml thinly on the affected skin.
- Do not apply to sunburnt or sensitive areas or on skin affected by eczema, dermatitis, and rosacea. Keep your eyes, mouth, and nose away from the solution.
- Use it once or twice as per the direction of your doctor.
- Do not apply cosmetic products or moisturisers until the solution has absorbed into the skin.

How long does Aknemycin take to work?
Aknemycin needs to be used until the acne condition improves. A complete treatment course is between 9-12 weeks, but you should start to see your skin improve after the first few weeks. What are the side effects of Aknemycin Plus?
Not everyone will experience side effects after applying Aknemycin Plus. However, common side effects are:
- Dry skin,
- peeling skin,
- burning, or stinging sensation,
- feeling a warm sensation on the applied area,
- skin redness,
- itchiness,
- rash,
- a temporary change in skin complexion,
- skin crusting
Dryness and redness are the common side effects that improve within a few weeks. Apply a non-oily moisturizer to overcome dryness.
As Aknemycin plus can cause the skin to be more sensitive to UV light, it is recommended to wear sunscreen when outdoors and avoid using sunbeds and sunlamps.
After using Aknemycin Plus Solution 25ml, if you experience a severe allergic reaction such as difficulty breathing, seek immediate medical help.
For any severe irritation such as scaly red rash, blisters or bumps under the skin, or an allergic reaction, stop using the product and speak to a doctor immediately.
