What is Epaderm Cream?

Epaderm Cream is a type of emollient that is used to treat dry skin conditions such as eczema and dermatitis. It is a combination of two active ingredients, liquid paraffin and yellow soft paraffin, which work together to moisturise the skin and prevent water loss.

What is Epaderm Cream for?

Epaderm Cream is primarily used to treat eczema and dermatitis. These conditions cause the skin to become dry, itchy, red, and inflamed. By applying Epaderm, the skin is moisturised, which helps to relieve the symptoms of these conditions. In addition to eczema and dermatitis, Epaderm can also be used to soften and hydrate dry skin, as well as to manage psoriasis and other dry skin conditions.

How does Epaderm Cream work?

Epaderm Cream works by forming a protective barrier over the skin, which helps to seal in moisture and prevent the skin from drying out. The two active ingredients, liquid paraffin and yellow soft paraffin, are both emollients, which means they work to soften and hydrate the skin. This helps to reduce itching and inflammation, and also supports the skin’s natural barrier function, which can become compromised in conditions like eczema and dermatitis.

Who is Epaderm Cream suitable for?

Epaderm Cream is suitable for anyone who is looking to moisturise and hydrate their skin, particularly those with dry skin conditions such as eczema and dermatitis. It can be used by adults, children, and the elderly, making it a versatile option for the whole family. However, it is important to note that if you have any allergies to the ingredients in Epaderm, you should not use it.

How to apply Epaderm Cream

  1. Wash your hands before and after using the cream or ointment.
  2. Gently smooth the cream or ointment onto the skin in the direction of hair growth.
  3. Use a small amount and apply more if necessary, as a little goes a long way.
  4. Apply cream as often as required, especially after washing, to keep the skin moisturised.

It is recommended to apply Epaderm Cream at least twice a day, or more frequently if needed. It can be used for as long as necessary to keep the skin moisturised and to manage the symptoms of eczema or dermatitis.
