Dexamethasone/Neomycin/Acetic Acid Ear Spray is a generic alternative to Otomize Ear Spray (which was discontinued in July 2025).

Dexamethasone neomycin ear spray is used to treat painful swelling and mild to moderate outer ear infections. This type of infection is called otitis externa, or swimmer’s ear, and is a painful condition that happens when the skin inside your ear canal becomes irritated, inflamed or infected.
It’s often caused by water getting trapped in the ear after swimming or showering, creating a warm, moist environment where bacteria can grow. Other causes include scratching the ear, using cotton buds, or allergies. This can lead to redness, itching, discomfort, and even temporary hearing loss.
Dexamethasone spray for ear infections contains three active ingredients:
Together, they relieve pain, reduce inflammation, and fight the infection.
To use Dexamethasone ear spray to heal your ear, follow these steps carefully:

Inactive Ingredients: Macrogol (2) stearyl ether, Macrogol (20) stearyl ether, Stearyl alcohol, Methyl parahydroxybenzoate (E218), Propyl parahydroxybenzoate (E216), Purified water.
Most people notice their ear pain starts to feel better within a few days. Treatment should continue for 2 days after symptoms disappear.
Alcohol does not interact with Dexamethasone Ear Spray when used in the ears.

It’s best to keep your ears dry while using Dexamethasone spray. Water in the ear can slow down healing and may make the bacterial infection worse. Avoid swimming and try not to get water in your ears when showering or bathing.
Keep using the ear infection treatment spray for two days after your symptoms have completely cleared. Stop using it and speak to your doctor if your symptoms get worse or haven’t improved after 7 days.
Dexamethasone Ear Spray is a generic Otomize spray, meaning it contains the same broad-spectrum antibiotics and active ingredients as Otomize Ear Spray. It works in exactly the same way to reduce inflammation, fight infection, and relieve discomfort in the outer ear.
The main difference is the brand name. Dexamethasone Ear Spray is an Otomize Ear Spray alternative that is often more affordable but just as effective.
