Peptac Liquid Peppermint is an over-the-counter treatment for heartburn, indigestion, and acid reflux. It works by forming a protective barrier on stomach contents, preventing acid from rising into the food pipe.
Suitable for adults and children aged 6 years and over.

Peptac is generally well tolerated. Side effects are very rare but may include:

Active Ingredients (per 10ml): Sodium alginate 500mg, sodium bicarbonate 267mg, calcium carbonate 160mg.
Other Ingredients: Carbomer, sodium hydroxide, saccharin sodium, ethyl (E214), propyl (E216) and butyl parahydroxybenzoates, isopropyl alcohol, peppermint oil, purified water.
Peptac is used to relieve heartburn, acid reflux and indigestion, including reflux in pregnancy.
Peptac acts rapidly, forming a protective raft on the stomach contents to help stop acid travelling back up the oesophagus.
Yes — Peptac can be used during pregnancy if clinically needed. If symptoms are frequent or severe, speak to your midwife, GP or pharmacist.
Yes — for children aged 6–12 years, the dose is 5–10 ml after meals and at bedtime, up to 4 times daily. Under 6 years is not recommended.
Leave a 2-hour gap between Peptac and other oral medicines to avoid interactions.
No — Peptac Peppermint Liquid is sugar-free and gluten-free.
Each 10 ml contains about 6 mmol of sodium (salt). If you are on a low-salt diet, seek advice before use.
Store below 25 °C and do not refrigerate or freeze. Keep out of the sight and reach of children.
