What is Soolantra Cream?

Soolantra Cream is a prescription-only topical medicine used in adults for the treatment of papulopustular rosacea, a form of rosacea that causes redness, spots, pimples and bumps on the face. It contains ivermectin, which has both anti-inflammatory and anti-parasitic actions, helping to reduce flare-ups and improve skin appearance.

What is Soolantra Cream used for?

Soolantra Cream is specifically indicated for adults to treat the inflammatory lesions (papules and pustules) associated with rosacea. Regular use helps reduce redness, bumps, and discomfort, improving both skin health and confidence.

How does Soolantra Cream work?

• Anti-parasitic action: Ivermectin targets Demodex mites, tiny organisms on the skin thought to play a role in rosacea.
• Anti-inflammatory effect: It reduces inflammation, redness, papules and pustules.

These combined effects calm the skin, clear inflammatory lesions, and help prevent flare-ups.

Who is Soolantra Cream suitable for?

Soolantra Cream is suitable for adults aged 18 and over with papulopustular rosacea.

It should not be used if you:

• Are allergic to ivermectin or any of the listed ingredients
• Are under 18 years of age

Speak to your doctor before use if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

How to apply Soolantra Cream

1. Wash your face gently with a mild cleanser and allow it to dry.
2. Apply once daily — use a pea-sized amount for each of the five areas of the face: forehead, nose, chin, and each cheek.
3. Spread as a thin layer across the entire face, even if some areas are unaffected.
4. Avoid eyes, eyelids, lips, and inside the nose or mouth.
5. Wash your hands after use.

Continue treatment for up to 4 months. If there is no improvement after 3 months, stop and consult your doctor. Treatment may be repeated if needed.

Soolantra Cream Side Effects

Like all medicines, Soolantra Cream may cause side effects, though not everyone gets them.

Common (may affect up to 1 in 10 people):

• Skin burning sensation

Uncommon (may affect up to 1 in 100 people):

• Skin irritation
• Itching (pruritus)
• Dry skin
• Rosacea worsening

Serious side effects (stop use and seek urgent medical advice):

• Severe allergic reaction (swelling of the face, lips, tongue or throat, difficulty breathing)

Soolantra Cream Ingredients

Active ingredient: Ivermectin 10 mg/g (1%).

Other ingredients: Glycerol, isopropyl palmitate, carbomer, dimeticone, disodium edetate, citric acid monohydrate, cetyl alcohol, stearyl alcohol, macrogol cetostearyl ether, sorbitan monostearate, phenoxyethanol, propylene glycol, methyl parahydroxybenzoate (E218), propyl parahydroxybenzoate (E216), sodium hydroxide, purified water.

Allergen warnings: Cetyl and stearyl alcohol may cause local skin reactions; parabens may cause allergic reactions (possibly delayed); propylene glycol may cause skin irritation.
