What Is Vagisil Medicated Creme Used For?

Vagisil Medicated Creme is used for the prompt relief of minor itching and irritation of the skin just outside the vagina and around the back passage (anus). It is effective for discomfort caused by perspiration, period irritation, tight clothing, detergents, or external thrush itching. It helps break the “itch-scratch cycle” by numbing the area and allowing the skin to heal.

Who Is Vagisil Medicated Creme Suitable For?

Vagisil is suitable for adults and children aged 12 years and over.Do not use Vagisil Medicated Creme if you:

• Are allergic to lidocaine or any of the other listed ingredients
• Are under 12 years of age
• Are applying it to your eyes

Speak to a healthcare professional before use if you:

• Have general itching all over your body
• Are pregnant or breastfeeding
• Are taking other medicines, such as those for heart rhythm or other local anaesthetics
• Are unsure of the cause of your itching

How to Use Vagisil Medicated Creme

1. Wash and dry the affected area gently before application.
2. Squeeze a 3–5 cm strip of cream onto your finger.
3. Apply the cream to the external affected area (just outside the vagina or around the anus).
4. Repeat the application 3 to 4 times daily as required.
5. Wash your hands thoroughly after use.

If symptoms persist for more than one week, consult your doctor, as a persistent itch may be a sign of another underlying condition.

Possible Side Effects of Vagisil Medicated Creme

While most people use Vagisil without issues, some may experience:

• Skin sensitivity reactions
• Reddening of the skin or minor swelling
• Blistering or intensification of the itch

If you experience a skin reaction, stop using the product immediately and consult your doctor. In very rare cases of improper use (overdose), symptoms like dizziness, drowsiness, or irregular heartbeat may occur.
