When will the weight loss tablets be available in the UK?

A new once-daily oral weight loss pill received FDA approval in the US in December 2025, making it the first pill of its kind approved specifically for weight management in adults. UK approval requires a separate MHRA process, and we expect it soon. No official date has been confirmed.

Once approved, you’ll be able to get it through a licensed UK prescriber. Join the waitlist and we’ll contact you as soon as it’s available through Click2Pharmacy.

How it works

Same active ingredient. Now in a pill.

The oral weight loss tablet contains the same active ingredient as the weight loss injection. It also contains an absorption enhancer that protects the medication in your stomach and helps it enter your system.

The medication reduces your appetite and helps you feel fuller for longer, so your overall calorie intake goes down. Combining the tablet with a reduced-calorie diet and healthy lifestyle choices like increased activity supports long-term weight loss.

How does the tablet compare to the weight loss injection?

Weight loss tablet

Weight loss injection

The ~1.4% difference in average weight loss between the two forms is considered unlikely to be clinically significant for most patients. Your prescriber can help decide which is more appropriate for you.

Your most asked questions

When will the weight loss pill be available in the UK?

There’s no confirmed launch date, but UK approval is expected soon. The tablet was approved by the FDA in December 2025 and became available in US pharmacies in early 2026. In the UK, new medicines and treatments need approval from the MHRA. Join the waitlist and we’ll let you know the moment it’s approved.

Treatment starts at 1.5 mg once daily and escalates every 30 days – to 4 mg, then 9 mg – before reaching the maintenance dose of 25 mg once daily from day 91. The gradual increase is designed to help your body adapt to the medication and lose weight in a healthy/sustainable way.

Switching is possible under prescriber guidance. Patients stabilised on the injection may be able to move directly to the tablet, with no need to re-escalate, starting one week after their last dose. Speak to your prescriber before making any change.
