About Crystacide Cream

Crystacide Cream is a potent hydrogen peroxide 1% w/w topical treatment used to manage superficial skin infections. Unlike traditional antibiotic creams, Crystacide works by releasing oxygen to destroy the cell walls of bacteria, fungi, and viruses. It is highly effective for treating primary and secondary skin infections, such as impetigo, infected small wounds, and scratches, without the risk of developing bacterial resistance. The lipid-stabilised formulation ensures that the hydrogen peroxide remains active on the skin for longer, providing a sustained antiseptic effect. Crystacide Cream is suitable for adults, the elderly, and children, making it a versatile addition to any first aid kit for managing localized skin issues.

What Is Crystacide Cream Used For?

Crystacide Cream 1% is indicated for the treatment of primary and secondary superficial skin infections caused by organisms sensitive to hydrogen peroxide. It is commonly used for impetigo (a highly contagious skin infection), infected grazes, small cuts, and spots. Its broad-spectrum action helps clear infection and prevent the spread of bacteria to other parts of the body or other people.

Who Is Crystacide Cream Suitable For?

Crystacide is suitable for adults and children. Do not use Crystacide Cream if you:

  • Are allergic to hydrogen peroxide or any of the listed ingredients
  • Intend to use it on large, deep wounds or healthy skin

Speak to a healthcare professional before use if you:

  • Are pregnant or breastfeeding (use only under medical guidance)
  • Are using other skin treatments, especially those containing iodine or permanganates

How to Use Crystacide Cream

  1. Wash your hands thoroughly before and after application.
  2. Gently clean the affected area and pat dry.
  3. Apply a thin layer of cream to the infected skin 2–3 times a day, or as directed.
  4. A dry film may appear on the skin after application; this is normal and can be washed off with water.

Do not use for more than 3 weeks. If symptoms do not improve within this timeframe, consult your doctor.

Possible Side Effects of Crystacide Cream

Crystacide is generally well-tolerated, but some users may experience:

  • A mild sensation of burning or stinging for a short time after application.

If you experience severe irritation or a persistent rash, stop use and consult a pharmacist or doctor.
