About Desorex Contraceptive Pill

Desorex Contraceptive Pill contains desogestrel 75 micrograms, a progestogen-only hormone used to prevent pregnancy. It works mainly by stopping ovulation and thickening cervical mucus, making it harder for sperm to reach an egg. Desorex is an oestrogen-free oral contraceptive, commonly known as the mini pill.

Desorex is used for effective contraception to help prevent unwanted pregnancy when taken correctly every day.

Who Is Desorex Contraceptive Pill Suitable For?

Desorex may be suitable for women who:

• Cannot take oestrogen-containing contraceptives
• Are breastfeeding
• Are over 35 and smoke

Do not take Desorex if you:

• Are allergic to desogestrel or any ingredients
• Have or have had blood clots
• Have liver disease or tumours
• Have unexplained vaginal bleeding
• Have or have had breast cancer

How to Use Desorex Contraceptive Pill

1. Take one coated tablet every day at the same time.
2. Swallow with water.
3. Follow the arrows printed on the blister strip.
4. Start the next blister strip immediately after finishing the previous one.

If you are more than 12 hours late taking a tablet, use additional contraception for the next 2 days.

Common side effects:

• Irregular bleeding or spotting
• Headache
• Acne
• Breast pain
• Weight increase

Uncommon:

• Mood changes
• Nausea
• Hair loss

Rare:

• Rash
• Urticaria (hives)
• Erythema nodosum
