What Is HC45 Hydrocortisone Cream Used For?

HC45 Cream is used to treat skin inflammation caused by irritant contact dermatitis, allergic contact dermatitis, insect bite reactions, and mild to moderate eczema. It works by suppressing the release of inflammatory chemicals in the skin cells, effectively reducing the “flare-up” symptoms like swelling, redness, and intense itching.

Who Is HC45 Hydrocortisone Cream Suitable For?

HC45 is suitable for adults and children aged 10+. Do not use HC45 Hydrocortisone Cream if you:

• Are allergic to hydrocortisone acetate or any other listed ingredients
• Have skin conditions such as acne, rosacea, or perioral dermatitis
• Have broken skin or skin infections (e.g., impetigo, athlete’s foot, cold sores, or chickenpox)
• Are treating the eyes, face, or ano-genital area

Speak to a healthcare professional before use if you:

• Are pregnant or breastfeeding
• Are treating a child under 10 years of age
• Require the cream for a large area of the body
• Have a history of visual disturbances or eye conditions like glaucoma

Ingredients

Other ingredients: White soft paraffin, cetomacrogol emulsifying wax (containing cetostearyl alcohol), liquid paraffin, phenoxyethanol, and purified water.

How to Use HC45 Hydrocortisone Cream

1. Check that the tube seal is intact before the first use.
2. Wash your hands before application.
3. Apply the cream accurately and sparingly to the affected area.
4. Gently massage the cream into the skin until it disappears.
5. Wash your hands after use (unless the hands are the area being treated).

Do not cover the treated area with an occlusive dressing (such as a plaster or bandage) unless advised by a doctor. Do not use for more than 7 days.

Possible Side Effects of HC45 Hydrocortisone Cream

Most people use HC45 without issues, but side effects can occur:

• Not Known: Local skin reactions, thinning of the skin (atrophy), stretch marks (striae), or changes in skin pigmentation.
• Rare: Blurred vision or other visual disturbances.

Chronic misuse or prolonged use on large areas can lead to systemic steroid effects, such as adrenal suppression.
