About Irripod Sodium Chloride Irrigation Pods

Irripod Sodium Chloride Irrigation Pods contain a 0.9% w/v sterile saline solution, a preservative-free isotonic liquid used for the topical cleansing of wounds and eyes. These pods are specifically designed to provide accurate, directional irrigation to remove debris and bacteria from affected areas without causing tissue trauma.

Irripod is an essential component of any first aid kit, suitable for managing surgical wounds, deep cavities, burns, and minor skin irritations. Because each pod is sterile and intended for single use, the risk of cross-contamination is significantly reduced compared to larger multi-use bottles.

Irripod Sodium Chloride Irrigation Pods are available in a convenient bulk pack:

What Is Irripod Used For?

Irripod is used for the topical irrigation and cleansing of various wounds, including deep wounds, burns, and surgical sites. It is also effective as an eyewash to remove foreign bodies or irritants. Its isotonic nature ensures it remains gentle on cells and does not interfere with the natural healing process.

Who Is Irripod Suitable For?

Irripod is suitable for individuals of all ages requiring sterile wound or eye cleansing.

Do not use Irripod if:

  • The solution is cloudy or contains visible particles
  • The pod is leaking or the seal is broken before first use
  • You are attempting to use it for injection (Not for parenteral use)

Speak to a healthcare professional before use if you:

  • Have a very deep or heavily infected wound
  • Have a serious eye injury requiring medical assessment
  • Are using other topical treatments on the same area (avoid mixing with silver or lead-based fluids)

How to Use Irripod Sodium Chloride Pods

  1. Ensure your hands are clean before handling the pod.
  2. Hold the pod upright and twist off the top seal to reveal the nozzle.
  3. To irrigate a wound, squeeze the pod firmly to direct a stream of saline onto the area.
  4. To use as an eyewash or for gentle cleansing, invert the pod and squeeze lightly to release drops.
  5. Avoid touching the nozzle against the wound or eye surface to maintain sterility.

Discard the pod and any remaining liquid after a single use.

Possible Side Effects of Irripod

Irripod is an isotonic saline solution and typically does not cause side effects when used topically.
Rarely, users may experience:

  • Mild localized irritation or stinging if used on very sensitive tissue
  • Allergic reactions (extremely rare for 0.9% sodium chloride)

If you notice any unusual skin reaction or worsening of the wound, stop use and consult a doctor.

Warnings and Precautions

  • For external use only: Strictly not for injection.
  • Single-use only: Do not store or reuse opened pods as they are no longer sterile.
  • Do not mix with other irrigation fluids unless directed by a clinician.
  • Keep out of the sight and reach of children.

Storage Instructions

  • Store in a clean, dry place between 2°C and 30°C.
  • Protect from direct sunlight and extreme heat.
  • Do not freeze.
  • Check the expiry date on the box and individual pods before use.
