Proctosedyl Suppositories contain prednisolone hexanoate 1.3 mg and cinchocaine hydrochloride 1.0 mg per suppository. This combination medicine helps relieve inflammation, swelling, pain, and itching associated with haemorrhoids (piles) and anal itching. Proctosedyl Suppositories work by reducing inflammation and providing local anaesthetic relief for short-term use, usually 5–7 days.

What Are Proctosedyl Suppositories Used For?

Proctosedyl Suppositories are used to relieve the discomfort, itching, swelling, and soreness caused by haemorrhoids or anal inflammation. The local anaesthetic component eases pain while the steroid reduces inflammation.

Who Is Proctosedyl Suitable For?

Proctosedyl is suitable for adults.

Do not use Proctosedyl Suppositories if you:

• Are allergic to prednisolone, cinchocaine, or any other ingredients
• Have viral infections such as herpes, chickenpox, or shingles in the affected area
• Have untreated bacterial or fungal infections in the anal region

Speak to your doctor before use if you:

• Are pregnant or breastfeeding
• Have liver problems
• Use other steroid medicines
• Have chronic anal conditions or infections

How to Use Proctosedyl Suppositories

1. Wash your hands and gently clean the anus before use.
2. Remove the suppository from its wrapper.
3. Lie on your side with knees slightly bent, and carefully insert the suppository into the anus.
4. Remain lying down for a few minutes to allow it to dissolve completely.

Do not use for longer than 7 days without consulting your doctor.
