The Wegovy pill is an oral form of semaglutide, licensed for weight management. It was approved by the MHRA on 11th June 2026 as the first GLP-1 tablet for weight loss in the UK, giving people a needle-free alternative to injectable Wegovy.

Semaglutide mimics a natural gut hormone called GLP-1 (glucagon-like peptide-1), which your body releases after eating to signal fullness to your brain.
