Almus Paracetamol Oral Suspension contains paracetamol 120mg per 5ml dose. It is a sugar-free liquid medication specifically formulated to provide effective relief from pain and to help reduce high temperatures (fever) in babies and young children. This  suspension is gentle on small stomachs and is commonly used to treat discomfort associated with teething, post-vaccination fever, and common childhood illnesses. Almus Paracetamol is suitable for children aged 3 months to 6 years (and babies from 2 months in specific circumstances) and is available in a convenient 200ml size:

What Is Almus Paracetamol Oral Suspension Used For?

Almus Paracetamol is used to relieve mild to moderate pain and reduce pyrexia (fever). It is highly effective for managing symptoms of teething, toothache, earache, headache, and the general aches and pains associated with colds and influenza. It is also used to lower a high temperature following childhood vaccinations.

Who Is Almus Paracetamol Suitable For?

This product is suitable for children aged 3 months to 6 years. It may be used for infants aged 2–3 months (weighing over 4kg and not premature) for post-vaccination fever or under professional advice. Do not give Almus Paracetamol if your child:

• Is allergic to paracetamol or any other listed ingredients
• Is under 2 months old
• Is already taking any other medicines containing paracetamol

Speak to a healthcare professional before use if your child:

• Has serious kidney or liver problems
• Has an intolerance to certain sugars (contains maltitol and sorbitol)
• Was born prematurely and is less than 3 months old

How to Use Almus Paracetamol Oral Suspension

1. Shake the bottle thoroughly for at least 10 seconds before each use.
2. Use the double-ended measuring spoon provided (2.5ml and 5ml ends) to ensure the correct dose.
3. Administer the dose orally; do not overfill the spoon.
4. Wait at least 4 hours between doses.
5. Wipe the neck of the bottle and replace the cap securely after use.

Do not give more than 4 doses in any 24-hour period. If symptoms persist for more than 3 days, consult your doctor.

Possible Side Effects of Almus Paracetamol

Side effects with paracetamol are rare, but may include:

• Skin rashes or allergic reactions
• Unexpected bruising or bleeding
• Becoming unusually tired or getting more infections than usual

Very rare cases of serious skin reactions have been reported. If you notice any swelling of the face, tongue, or throat, seek medical help immediately.

Warnings and Precautions

• Overdose Warning: Do not exceed the stated dose. Immediate medical advice should be sought in the event of an overdose, even if the child seems well.
• Do not give with other paracetamol-containing products.
• Contains Maltitol and Liquid Maltitol (E965); may have a mild laxative effect.
• If your child’s symptoms do not improve or worsen after 3 days, speak to a doctor.

Storage Instructions

• Store below 25°C in the original container.
• Keep the bottle in the outer carton to protect from light.
• Keep out of the sight and reach of children.
• Do not use after the expiry date stated on the label.
