About Aspirin Tablets

Aspirin 300mg Tablets are a widely used, effective painkiller containing acetylsalicylic acid. They are specifically designed to provide relief from various types of pain, including headaches, migraines, neuralgia, toothache, and sore throat. In addition to acting as a pain reliever, they are also effective at reducing high temperatures and alleviating inflammation associated with conditions such as rheumatic pain, sciatica, lumbago, muscle aches, and joint stiffness.

What Are Aspirin Tablets Used For?

Aspirin 300mg tablets are a versatile painkiller used to treat minor to moderate pain, including:

  • Headaches and migraines
  • Period pains
  • Toothache and sore throats
  • Muscle aches, sprains, and strains
  • Rheumatic pain, sciatica, and lumbago
  • Joint swelling and stiffness
  • High temperature (fever)

Who Are Aspirin Tablets Suitable For?

Aspirin 300mg tablets are suitable for adults and adolescents aged 16 and over.

Do not take these tablets if you:

  • Are allergic to aspirin, other NSAIDs, or any listed ingredients.
  • Have or have previously had a stomach ulcer.
  • Suffer from haemophilia or any bleeding condition.
  • Suffer from or have a history of gout.
  • Are in the last 3 months of pregnancy or are breastfeeding.
  • Are under 16 years of age (unless advised by a doctor due to the risk of Reye’s syndrome).

Consult your doctor or pharmacist before use if you:

  • Have or have had asthma.
  • Are dehydrated.
  • Have been told you have a G6PD deficiency.
  • Are taking other medications, particularly blood thinners (e.g., Warfarin), corticosteroids, other anti-inflammatory drugs, or medication for blood pressure, epilepsy, or gout.

How to Take Aspirin Tablets

  1. Take 1 to 3 tablets with a glass of water.
  2. Repeat every 4 hours if necessary.
  3. Do not take more than 4 doses within any 24-hour period.
  4. If symptoms persist for more than 3 days, consult your doctor.

If you miss a dose, do not take a double dose. If you accidentally take too many, seek medical attention immediately.

Possible Side Effects of Aspirin Tablets

While many people use aspirin without issues, some may experience side effects.

Stop taking and seek medical advice immediately if you experience:

  • Signs of stomach bleeding (vomiting blood, dark/tarry stools).
  • Severe stomach pain, indigestion, or heartburn.
  • Allergic reactions (rash, swelling of the face/throat, difficulty breathing).
  • Signs of bleeding on the brain (severe headache, stroke symptoms).

Less serious side effects include feeling or being sick, nosebleeds, ringing in the ears (tinnitus), or dizziness.

Warnings and Precautions

  • Do not give to children under 16 years old due to the association with Reye’s Syndrome.
  • Do not exceed the stated dose.
  • Contains lactose; consult your doctor if you have a known sugar intolerance.
  • If you are pregnant, particularly in the first or second trimester, consult a doctor before use. Do not use in the final 3 months.

Storage Instructions

  • Store in a safe place, out of the sight and reach of children.
  • Do not store above 25°C.
  • Do not use after the expiry date printed on the packaging.
