About Canesten Dermatological Spray

Canesten Dermatological Spray contains clotrimazole 1% w/v, an antifungal agent used to treat fungal skin infections such as ringworm, athlete’s foot, jock itch, and fungal-infected skin folds. The spray is especially suitable for large or hairy areas, providing effective relief from itching, redness, and discomfort caused by fungal infections.

What Is Canesten Dermatological Spray Used For?

Canesten Dermatological Spray treats fungal skin infections like athlete’s foot, ringworm, and jock itch by stopping fungal growth and relieving itching, redness, and soreness.

Who Is Canesten Dermatological Spray Suitable For?

Suitable for adults and children over 4 weeks. Do not use if allergic to clotrimazole or any other ingredient. Consult a doctor if you have open wounds, burns, or large areas of damaged skin.

How to Use Canesten Dermatological Spray

  1. Press the atomiser once or twice before first use to prime the spray.
  2. Wash and dry affected area thoroughly, especially between toes for athlete’s foot.
  3. Spray 2–3 times daily from ~6 inches away.
  4. Avoid eyes, nose, mouth, and inhalation.
  5. Continue treatment for 2–4 weeks. Symptoms may improve within days, but redness and scaling can take longer.

Possible Side Effects of Canesten Dermatological Spray

Common:

  • Skin irritation, redness, or burning

Uncommon:

  • Itching or rash

Rare:

  • Allergic reactions (swelling, severe rash)

If severe irritation occurs, stop use and consult a doctor.

Warnings and Precautions

  • Do not use on open wounds or large damaged skin areas without medical advice.
  • Propylene glycol in the spray may cause irritation.
  • Keep away from naked flames – fabric in contact with spray may catch fire.
