By stopping the bacteria from multiplying, the ointment helps your body’s immune system to eliminate the infection more effectively.

Who is Chloramphenicol Eye Ointment suitable for?

Chloramphenicol Eye Ointment is suitable for adults and children over the age of 2 years who have bacterial eye infections. However, it may not be suitable for everyone. People who have a history of allergic reactions to chloramphenicol or any other ingredients in the ointment should avoid using it. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should consult their doctor before using this medication. Additionally, if you have a history of blood disorders or bone marrow problems, you should inform your doctor before using this ointment.

How to apply Chloramphenicol Eye Ointment

• Wash your hands thoroughly before applying the ointment.
• Open the tube and avoid touching the tip with your fingers or any surface.
• Gently pull down your lower eyelid to create a small pocket.
• Squeeze a small amount of ointment (about 1 cm) into the pocket.
• Close your eye for a few moments to allow the ointment to spread evenly.
• Wipe away any excess ointment with a clean tissue.
• Wash your hands again after applying the ointment.

Apply Chloramphenicol Eye Ointment 3 to 4 times a day, or as directed by your doctor.

Continue using the ointment for at least 48 hours after your symptoms have improved to ensure the infection is completely cleared.

• Avoid wearing contact lenses while using Chloramphenicol Eye Ointment.
• Do not use the ointment for more than 5 days without consulting your doctor.
