Cialis Daily is used to treat erectile dysfunction, when getting or keeping an erection is difficult. It works to increase blood flow to the penis, making it easier to get and keep an erection when you’re aroused. Unlike ED tablets taken as needed, Cialis Daily is taken once a day, so you don’t have to plan ahead for intimacy.
The 5mg tablets are also used to ease the urinary symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), an enlarged prostate, by relaxing the muscles in the bladder and prostate.
Cialis is also available in 10mg and 20mg strengths. These aren’t for daily use and are instead taken as required, ideally 1 to 2 times a week and at least 1 hour before sex.
Cialis Daily contains the active ingredient tadalafil, which belongs to a group of medicines called phosphodiesterase type 5 inhibitors. It works by relaxing the blood vessels in your penis, which improves blood flow and makes it easier to get and keep an erection when you’re sexually stimulated. However, Cialis Daily won’t give you an erection without sexual stimulation.
Cialis Daily is for adult men with erectile dysfunction. Men can also take the 5mg tablets with BPH symptoms. It isn’t for women or anyone under 18.
You shouldn’t take Cialis Daily if you:
Take Cialis Daily exactly as your prescriber tells you. Both the 2.5mg and 5mg tablets are taken once a day.
Taking your tablet at the same time each day keeps a steady level of tadalafil in your body and makes it easier to remember.
The usual starting dose is 5mg once daily, taken as one Cialis 5mg tablet. Depending on how you respond and how well you tolerate it, your doctor may lower your dose to the Cialis 2.5mg daily tablets. Your GP or pharmacist will decide which strength is right for you during your consultation.
Like all medicines, Cialis Daily can cause side effects, though not everyone gets them. They’re usually mild to moderate.

Active ingredient: Tadalafil. Cialis 2.5mg contains 2.5mg of tadalafil and Cialis 5mg contains 5mg.
Other ingredients: Lactose monohydrate, croscarmellose sodium, hydroxypropylcellulose, microcrystalline cellulose, sodium laurilsulfate, magnesium stearate, hypromellose, triacetin, titanium dioxide (E171), iron oxide yellow (E172) and talc. The 2.5mg tablets also contain iron oxide red (E172).
It usually takes about 4 to 5 days for Cialis to start working fully, as it builds up to a steady level in your body. Once it’s built up, it lets you get an erection at any time of day, as long as you’re sexually stimulated. You don’t need to time your dose around sex.
Cialis Daily is licensed so you can take it every day, and it’s designed for regular use. For most men, it’s well tolerated when it’s been prescribed after a consultation that checks your health and other medicines. Your GP or pharmacist will review your treatment over time to make sure it’s still right for you.
Take your dose at the same time every day to keep a steady level of tadalafil in your body. Pick a time you’ll easily remember, such as when you wake up or after breakfast. It doesn’t need to be linked to when you plan to have sex.
Take it as soon as you remember, unless it’s almost time for your next dose. Don’t take a double dose to make up for a forgotten tablet, and never take more than one tablet in a day. If you often forget to take a dose, taking it at the same time as part of your routine can help.
Drinking in moderation is usually fine, but alcohol, when taking Cialis, can lower your blood pressure and make side effects like dizziness more likely. Heavy drinking can also make it harder to get an erection. It’s best to limit how much you drink until you know how Cialis affects you.
Cialis Daily is meant for long-term, regular use, so there’s no set limit on how long you can take it. Your GP or pharmacist should review your treatment from time to time to check it’s still working well and still suitable. Let them know if anything about your health changes.
Some medication can be affected by Cialis (tadalafil) 2.5mg/5mg tablets or may affect how well they work to treat your ED symptoms. You should let your pharmacist know if you are taking:

Most side effects are mild and pass on their own, often within a few hours to a couple of days. Because daily Cialis stays in your system, some effects can come and go while you continue to take it. Speak to your doctor or pharmacist if any side effect is troubling you or doesn’t settle.
Cialis Daily has been proven highly effective for treating ED. In a 12-week study into erectile dysfunction treatment with tadalafil 2.5mg or 5mg once daily, up to 74% of participants saw improvements in their condition.
Taking Cialis for daily use isn’t habit-forming. Cialis isn’t addictive and doesn’t cause physical dependence, so you won’t get withdrawal effects if you stop. Some men do feel more confident knowing they’ve taken it, which is a psychological rather than a physical effect. If you’d like to stop, you can talk it through with your prescriber.
Cialis doesn’t raise your testosterone. It works by relaxing blood vessels and improving blood flow to the penis, not by changing your hormones. If you think low testosterone might be affecting you, your GP can arrange a blood test to check.
Cialis is used in the treatment of erectile dysfunction, so it helps you get and keep an erection rather than delay ejaculation. It isn’t a treatment for premature ejaculation, which is a separate condition. Some men find they can maintain an erection more easily, but Cialis isn’t designed to make you last longer.
Cialis helps you get a firm, natural erection by improving blood flow, but it won’t make your penis larger than its normal full size. It treats the difficulty of getting or keeping an erection, not size. If you have any concerns about this, your GP can talk them through with you.

Viagra (sildenafil) is taken only when needed, usually as a 50mg dose that can be adjusted to 25mg or 100mg, about an hour before sex, and it lasts around 4 to 6 hours. They’re different medicines, so the doses aren’t directly comparable. Your prescriber can help you choose which one suits you.
Cialis Together is a pharmacy version of tadalafil that you can buy without a prescription after a pharmacist’s check.
