Enstilar Foam is a prescription-only topical treatment for psoriasis vulgaris in adults. It contains a combination of calcipotriol 50 micrograms/g and betamethasone 0.5 mg/g, working together to reduce inflammation, redness, scaling, and thickened psoriatic plaques.

Calcipotriol helps normalise excessive skin cell production, while betamethasone, a strong corticosteroid, reduces swelling, redness, and irritation. Enstilar Foam is formulated as a fast-absorbing cutaneous foam, making it suitable for use on both the body and scalp.

Enstilar Foam is designed for once-daily application and is typically used for a 4-week treatment course, or as directed by a healthcare professional.

What Is Enstilar Foam Used For?

Enstilar Foam is used to treat psoriasis vulgaris by slowing down excessive skin cell growth and reducing inflammation, redness, and scaling. It can be applied to both the body and scalp where psoriasis plaques are present.

Who Is Enstilar Foam Suitable For?

Enstilar Foam is suitable for adults aged 18 years and over.

Do not use Enstilar Foam if you:

• Are allergic to calcipotriol, betamethasone, or any ingredients
• Have erythrodermic or pustular psoriasis
• Have skin infections, acne, rosacea, ulcers, or wounds
• Have calcium metabolism disorders

Speak to a healthcare professional before use if you:

• Have diabetes
• Are using other steroid medicines
• Have guttate psoriasis
• Experience blurred vision or visual disturbances

How to Use Enstilar Foam

1. Shake the can for a few seconds before use.
2. Hold the can at least 3 cm from the skin.
3. Spray directly onto affected areas or into the palm for scalp use.
4. Gently rub the foam into the skin.
5. Wash hands thoroughly after application.

Do not wash treated areas immediately after application. Allow the foam to remain on the skin overnight or during the day.

Possible Side Effects of Enstilar Foam

Uncommon side effects:

• Skin irritation, itching, burning, or redness
• Folliculitis (inflamed hair follicles)
• Worsening of psoriasis after stopping treatment

Frequency not known:

• Blurred vision
• Changes in calcium levels

Long-term or excessive use may increase the risk of steroid-related side effects such as thinning of the skin or hormonal effects.

Warnings and Precautions

• Do not exceed 15g per day
• Do not apply to the face or genitals
• Avoid use under dressings or bandages
• Do not smoke or expose to flames – fire risk

Storage Instructions

• Store below 30°C
• Protect from sunlight
• Do not pierce or burn the can
• Discard 6 months after first opening
