About Motusol 2.32% Diclofenac Gel Max

Motusol 2.32% Diclofenac Gel Max contains diclofenac diethylamine, a potent non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) designed to penetrate deep into the skin. Unlike standard gels, this high-strength 2.32% formulation concentrates the active ingredient at the site of pain, providing effective relief for up to 12 hours. It is specifically formulated to treat localized pain, inflammation, and swelling associated with soft tissue injuries and rheumatic conditions.

Motusol 2.32% Gel is suitable for adults and adolescents aged 14 years and over and is available in two convenient sizes:

  • Motusol 2.32% Diclofenac Gel Max – 30g
  • Motusol 2.32% Diclofenac Gel Max – 50g

What Is Motusol 2.32% Diclofenac Gel Max Used For?

Motusol is used for the local symptomatic treatment of pain in acute strains, sprains, or bruises caused by blunt trauma. It works by inhibiting the enzymes responsible for pain and inflammation, helping to restore mobility and reduce swelling in muscles and joints.

Who Is Motusol 2.32% Gel Suitable For?

Motusol is suitable for adults and teenagers 14+.

Do not use Motusol 2.32% Gel if you:

  • Are allergic to diclofenac or other NSAIDs (e.g., aspirin or ibuprofen)
  • Are in the last 3 months of pregnancy
  • Have damaged skin, wounds, or eczema at the application site
  • Are under 14 years of age

Speak to a healthcare professional before use if you:

  • Have a history of stomach ulcers, kidney, or liver problems
  • Suffer from asthma or chronic respiratory issues
  • Are in the first 6 months of pregnancy or breastfeeding
  • Are taking oral NSAIDs or other pain relief medications

How to Use Motusol 2.32% Diclofenac Gel Max

  1. Pierce the seal of the tube using the point on the cap.
  2. Apply the gel to the painful area twice a day (ideally morning and night).
  3. The amount needed depends on the size of the area; usually, a quantity ranging from the size of a cherry to a walnut is sufficient.
  4. Rub the gel gently into the skin until absorbed.
  5. Wait for the gel to dry before showering or dressing.

Do not cover the treated area with airtight (occlusive) bandages.

Possible Side Effects of Motusol 2.32% Gel

Common side effects (may affect up to 1 in 10 people):

  • Skin rash, itching, or redness
  • Dermatitis or eczema

Rare side effects:

  • Bullous dermatitis (blistering)
  • Increased sensitivity to sunlight (photosensitivity)

If you experience a widespread skin rash or swelling of the face/shortness of breath, stop use immediately and seek medical attention.

Warnings and Precautions

  • Avoid contact with eyes, nose, mouth, and open wounds.
  • Do not expose the treated area to direct sunlight or sunlamps during treatment.
  • Stop treatment if a skin rash develops after application.
  • Contains propylene glycol and butylhydroxytoluene, which may cause localized skin irritation.

  • Store in the original container to protect from light.
  • This medicinal product does not require any special temperature storage conditions.
  • Keep out of sight and reach of children.
