About Night Nurse Capsules

Night Nurse Capsules are a powerful complete nighttime cold and flu remedy designed to provide effective relief from multiple symptoms in a single dose. Formulated with three active ingredients, these capsules help to reduce fever, soothe a sore throat, dry up a runny nose, and suppress a tickly cough, allowing you to get a better night’s sleep while recovering from illness.

What Is Night Nurse Used For?

Night Nurse Capsules are specifically formulated for nighttime use to provide relief from the symptoms of colds, chills, and influenza. The combination of ingredients works to lower temperature, alleviate aches and pains, dry up nasal secretions to aid breathing, and control a non-productive cough so you can rest undisturbed.

Who Is Night Nurse Suitable For?

Night Nurse is suitable for adults and adolescents aged 16 years and over.

Do not use Night Nurse Capsules if you:

  • Are allergic to paracetamol, promethazine, dextromethorphan, or any other ingredients
  • Have lung disease or breathing difficulties (e.g., asthma or COPD)
  • Are taking, or have taken in the last 2 weeks, Monoamine Oxidase Inhibitors (MAOIs) for depression
  • Have a persistent or chronic cough with phlegm
  • Are pregnant or breastfeeding

Speak to a healthcare professional before use if you:

  • Have liver or kidney problems
  • Have glaucoma or an enlarged prostate
  • Have heart disease or high blood pressure
  • Suffer from epilepsy
  • Are taking other medications that cause drowsiness

Ingredients

Other ingredients: Lactose, talc, magnesium stearate. The capsule shell contains gelatin and various food-grade colourants (Quinoline yellow, Indigo carmine, Titanium dioxide).

How to Take Night Nurse Capsules

  1. Take the capsules with a glass of water.
  2. The recommended dose is 2 capsules to be taken just before bedtime.
  3. Only take one dose per night.
  4. Ensure you do not exceed 4 doses of paracetamol within any 24-hour period (including the Night Nurse dose).

If symptoms persist for more than 3 days, consult your doctor. Avoid alcohol while taking this medication.

Possible Side Effects of Night Nurse Capsules

Common side effects:

  • Drowsiness or dizziness
  • Dry mouth
  • Blurred vision
  • Gastrointestinal upset (e.g., nausea or constipation)

Uncommon/Rare:

  • Skin rash or allergic reactions
  • Difficulty passing urine
  • Confusion or excitability (particularly in the elderly)

Night Nurse can cause significant drowsiness; do not drive or operate machinery the following day if you still feel sleepy.

Warnings and Precautions

  • Contains Paracetamol: Do not take with any other paracetamol-containing products. An overdose can cause serious liver damage.
  • Drowsiness: This medication will cause drowsiness. Do not drive or operate machinery.
  • Alcohol: Avoid drinking alcohol, as it increases the sedative effects.
  • Duration: Do not use for longer than 3 days without medical advice.

Storage Instructions

  • Store in a cool, dry place below 25°C.
  • Store in the original package to protect from light.
  • Keep out of the sight and reach of children.
