About Nurofen for Children Chewable Capsules

Nurofen for Children Chewable Capsules contain 100 mg of ibuprofen per capsule, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) designed to provide effective relief from pain and fever in children. These soft, orange-flavoured capsules are formulated to be easy to chew and swallow, making them a convenient solution for children who struggle with liquid medicines or tablets.

What Are Nurofen for Children Chewable Capsules Used For?

Nurofen for Children Chewable Capsules are used to relieve mild to moderate pain and reduce fever. They are effective for symptoms including:

  • Headaches and migraine symptoms
  • Dental pain and toothache
  • Earache
  • Sore throats
  • Minor aches, pains, sprains, and strains
  • Cold and flu symptoms

Who Is Nurofen for Children Suitable For?

This medicine is for children aged 7 to 12 years.

Do not use if the child:

  • Is under 7 years old.
  • Is allergic to ibuprofen, any other NSAIDs, peanuts, soya, or other ingredients.
  • Has ever had a stomach ulcer, perforation, or bleeding.
  • Has severe heart, kidney, or liver failure.
  • Is taking other NSAID painkillers or aspirin.

Consult a doctor before use if the child:

  • Has asthma, liver, kidney, heart, or bowel problems.
  • Has high blood pressure or diabetes.
  • Is dehydrated or has chickenpox.
  • Has SLE (Systemic Lupus Erythematosus).

Ingredients

Other ingredients: Gelatin, purified water, liquid glucose, sucrose, fumaric acid, sucralose, citric acid, acesulfame K, disodium edetate, glycerin, natural orange flavour, iron oxides, and opacode white ink (containing titanium dioxide). Contains soya lecithin.

How to Use Nurofen for Children Chewable Capsules

  1. Ensure the child is aged 7 years or older.
  2. Place the capsule in the mouth.
  3. The child should chew the capsule thoroughly before swallowing. No water is required.
  4. Dosing should be repeated no more than 3 times in 24 hours, with a minimum of 6 hours between doses.

Possible Side Effects

Like all medicines, this product can cause side effects, though not everyone gets them.

  • Common: Stomach pain, indigestion, nausea, diarrhoea, or vomiting.
  • Serious (Stop use and seek medical help): Allergic reactions (swelling of face/throat, difficulty breathing), blood in stool or vomit (black, tarry stools), or severe skin rashes.

Warnings and Precautions

  • Do not exceed the recommended dose.
  • Keep out of the sight and reach of children.
  • This product contains soya lecithin and glucose.
  • Use the lowest effective dose for the shortest duration necessary.

Storage Instructions

  • Store below 25°C.
  • Keep in the original packaging.
  • Do not use after the expiry date.
