About Nurofen Pain Relief Tablets

Nurofen Pain Relief contains sodium ibuprofen dihydrate 256mg (equivalent to 200mg ibuprofen). This formulation is designed to be absorbed quickly into the bloodstream to reach the site of pain fast. It provides effective, long-lasting relief from inflammation and various body aches, particularly targeting persistent backache and joint stiffness.

These tablets belong to a group of medicines known as Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs (NSAIDs), which work by changing how the body responds to pain, swelling, and high temperatures.

What Is Nurofen Pain Relief Tablets Used For?

Nurofen Pain Relief is specifically formulated to alleviate inflammatory conditions and body aches. It is highly effective for:

  • Lower and upper backache
  • Joint stiffness and rheumatic pain
  • Muscular strains and sprains
  • Neuralgia (nerve pain)
  • Migraines, headaches, and dental pain
  • Feverishness and symptoms of cold and flu

Who Is This Product Suitable For?

This medication is suitable for adults and adolescents weighing over 40kg (aged 12 years and older).

Do not take Nurofen Joint and Back Pain Relief if you:

  • Are allergic to ibuprofen, aspirin, or other NSAIDs
  • Have ever had a perforated or bleeding stomach ulcer
  • Suffer from severe liver, kidney, or heart failure
  • Are in the last 3 months of pregnancy
  • Are currently taking other NSAID painkillers

Consult a healthcare professional before use if you:

  • Have asthma or a history of gastrointestinal disease (like ulcerative colitis)
  • Have high blood pressure or heart problems
  • Are in the first 6 months of pregnancy or breastfeeding
  • Are a smoker or have high cholesterol

Ingredients

Other ingredients:  Croscarmellose sodium, Xylitol, Microcrystalline cellulose, Magnesium stearate, Colloidal anhydrous silica, Carmellose sodium, Talc, Acacia spray dried, Sucrose, Titanium dioxide (E171), Macrogol 6000 powder, and Black ink (contains shellac, iron oxide black (E172) and propylene glycol).

How to Take Nurofen Pain Relief Tablets

  1. Take 1 or 2 tablets with a glass of water, preferably with or after food.
  2. Leave at least 4 hours between each dose.
  3. Do not chew the tablets; swallow them whole.
  4. For adolescents (12-18 years): If symptoms worsen or persist for more than 3 days, consult a doctor.
  5. For adults: Do not use for longer than 10 days unless directed by a GP.

Possible Side Effects

Most people use Nurofen without issues, but potential side effects can include:

  • Common: Heartburn, stomach pain, or indigestion.
  • Uncommon: Skin rashes, headaches, or dizziness.
  • Rare: Flatulence, diarrhea, or constipation.
  • Very Rare: Blood disorders, stomach ulcers, or kidney problems.

Stop use immediately and seek medical help if you experience signs of an allergic reaction, such as swelling of the face or difficulty breathing.

Warnings and Precautions

  • Do not exceed the recommended dose of 6 tablets per day.
  • This product contains Sodium (approx. 24.3mg per tablet), which should be considered if you are on a low-sodium diet.
  • Contains Sucrose; if you have an intolerance to some sugars, contact your doctor before use.

Storage Instructions

  • Store in the original packaging to protect from moisture.
  • Do not store above 25°C.
