About Nutramigen 1 With LGG

Nutramigen 1 With LGG is an extensively hydrolysed hypoallergenic formula specifically designed for the dietary management of infants with cow’s milk protein allergy (CMPA). It is nutritionally complete and suitable for babies from birth up to 6 months of age as a sole source of nutrition, or as part of a weaning diet from 6 months onwards. The formula contains Lactobacillus rhamnosus GG (LGG), a widely studied friendly bacteria that helps support gut health and accelerate the return to a normal diet. Nutramigen 1 With LGG is available in a convenient powder form:

What Is Nutramigen 1 With LGG Used For?

Nutramigen 1 With LGG is used for the dietary management of infants with mild-to-moderate cow’s milk protein allergy. The proteins in this formula have been “extensively hydrolysed” (broken down into tiny pieces), so the infant’s immune system does not recognise them as allergens. It effectively manages symptoms like colic, eczema, diarrhoea, and constipation caused by milk sensitivity.

Who Is Nutramigen 1 With LGG Suitable For?

This formula is suitable for infants from birth to 6 months as a sole source of nutrition. It can also be used for older babies as part of a weaning diet. Do not use Nutramigen 1 With LGG if:

  • The infant has a known allergy to any of the listed ingredients
  • It has not been recommended by a healthcare professional

Speak to a doctor or pharmacist before use if:

  • The infant was born prematurely
  • The infant is immunocompromised
  • The infant has severe or life-threatening allergic reactions

  4. Add the correct number of level scoops of powder using the provided scoop.

Possible Side Effects of Nutramigen 1 With LGG

Common observations when switching to this formula:

  • Frequent, loose stools of a greenish colour (this is normal for infants on hydrolysed formula)
  • Changes in wind or bowel habits during the first few days of transition

Seek medical advice if:

  • Symptoms of allergy (rash, vomiting, wheezing) do not improve or worsen
  • The infant shows signs of severe dehydration or poor weight gain

Warnings and Precautions

  • Must be used under the supervision of a healthcare professional.
  • Failure to follow preparation instructions exactly can make your baby ill.
  • Do not use a microwave to warm formula, as this can cause “hot spots” and burn the baby.
  • Once prepared, formula can spoil quickly; throw away any leftovers after 1 hour.

Storage Instructions

  • Store the unopened tin in a cool, dry place.
  • Once opened, keep the tin tightly covered and use within 1 month.
  • Do not freeze the powder and avoid exposure to excessive heat.
  • Keep out of the reach and sight of children.
