Orajel Dental Gel contains benzocaine 10% w/w, a local anaesthetic that numbs the affected area to provide rapid relief from toothache pain. It is designed to temporarily relieve discomfort from broken teeth or teeth needing a filling.

What Is Orajel Dental Gel Used For?

Orajel Gel temporarily relieves toothache pain from broken teeth or teeth that may need fillings by numbing the affected area.

Who Is Orajel Dental Gel Suitable For?

Suitable for adults and children aged 12 years and over.

Do not use Orajel Dental Gel if you:

• Are allergic to benzocaine or any listed ingredients, particularly sorbic acid
• Are under 12 years old
• Have difficulty converting methaemoglobin to haemoglobin

Consult your doctor or dentist before use if you:

• Are pregnant or breastfeeding
• Are taking sulphonamide antibiotics

How to Use Orajel Gel

1. Wash hands and remove cap.
2. Cut open the tip of the tube.
3. Apply a pea-sized amount directly into the tooth cavity with a clean finger.
4. Use up to 4 times a day as needed.
5. Avoid hot drinks during application.
6. Consult a dentist if pain persists.

Possible Side Effects of Orajel Gel

Common:

• Local irritation, stinging, burning, redness, rash, or swelling

Rare:

• Methaemoglobinaemia (difficulty converting blood component)

Stop use and consult a doctor or dentist immediately if severe allergic reactions occur.

Warnings and Precautions

• Use only as directed.
• Do not use continuously for long periods.
• Keep out of reach of children.
• Seek medical advice if symptoms worsen or persist.

Storage Instructions

• Store below 30°C, away from children.
• Do not use if tube is damaged.
• Do not use after expiry date.
