What Is Orajel Extra Strength Dental Gel Used For?

Orajel Extra Strength temporarily reduces pain in a broken tooth or a tooth that may require a filling by numbing the affected area.

Who Is Orajel Extra Strength Dental Gel Suitable For?

It is suitable for adults and children aged 12 years and over.

Do not use if you:

• Are allergic to benzocaine or any other ingredients, especially sorbic acid
• Have difficulty converting methaemoglobin to haemoglobin
• Are under 12 years of age

Consult your pharmacist or doctor if you:

• Are pregnant or breastfeeding
• Are taking sulphonamide antibiotics
• Have persistent toothache or other dental conditions

How to Use Orajel Extra Strength Dental Gel

1. Remove the cap and cut the tip of the tube.
2. Apply a pea-sized amount of gel to the affected tooth using a clean finger.
3. Repeat up to 4 times a day as needed.
4. Avoid hot drinks immediately after application.
5. Use only short-term until you can see a dentist.

Possible Side Effects of Orajel Extra Strength

Common:

• Local irritation, stinging, or redness

Serious (stop use immediately):

• Allergic reactions including rash, swelling, or itching
• Methaemoglobinaemia (difficulty converting blood components)

Warnings and Precautions
