It works by shrinking swollen blood vessels inside the nose, helping to open up the nasal airways and reduce excessive mucus production.

Otrivine Sinusitis Spray provides effective relief from sinus pressure and congestion, helping you breathe more comfortably. It is suitable for adults and children aged 12 years and over and is intended for short-term use only.

What Is Otrivine Sinusitis Spray Used For?

Otrivine Sinusitis Spray is used for the short-term relief of nasal congestion caused by sinusitis, colds, hay fever, and other allergic or perennial rhinitis conditions. It helps clear blocked nasal passages and reduces sinus pressure by constricting swollen blood vessels in the nose.

Who Is Otrivine Sinusitis Spray Suitable For?

Otrivine Sinusitis Spray is suitable for adults and children aged 12 years and over.

Do not use Otrivine Sinusitis Spray if you:

• Are allergic to xylometazoline hydrochloride or any other ingredients
• Have had recent brain or nasal surgery
• Have narrow-angle glaucoma
• Have chronic dry nasal inflammation (atrophic rhinitis or rhinitis sicca)
• Have an enlarged prostate gland
• Have phaeochromocytoma
• Are taking MAO inhibitors or have used them within the last 14 days

Speak to a healthcare professional before use if you:

• Have heart or circulation problems
• Have high blood pressure
• Have diabetes
• Have an overactive thyroid
• Are pregnant or breastfeeding
• Are taking antidepressants

How to Use Otrivine Sinusitis Spray

1. Remove the protective cap.
2. Prime the spray before first use by pressing the pump 5 times until a fine mist appears.
3. Gently blow your nose.
4. Insert the nozzle into one nostril while keeping the bottle upright.
5. Press the pump once and breathe in gently through the nose.
6. Repeat in the other nostril.
7. Clean and dry the nozzle after use and replace the cap.

Do not use for more than 7 consecutive days to avoid rebound congestion.

Possible Side Effects of Otrivine Sinusitis Spray

Common side effects:

• Headache
• Nasal dryness or discomfort
• Nausea
• Burning sensation in the nose or throat

Uncommon:

• Nosebleeds

Rare or very rare:

• Allergic reactions including swelling and breathing difficulties
• Visual disturbances
• Palpitations or increased heart rate

Warnings and Precautions

• Do not exceed the recommended dose.
• Do not use continuously for more than 7 days.
