“Epiduo gel is a medicine clinically proven to treat mild to moderate acne if you have mostly whiteheads and blackheads with a few papules and pustules. What makes Epiduo gel/cream work so well is that it has two key ingredients that work together to eradicate acne. You can use Epiduo when other single treatments have failed. Another advantage of Epiduo topical gel is that it doesn’t contain antibiotics, which is great for people who cannot tolerate them.

You do need a prescription for this medicine, but the good news is you can buy Epiduo gel from the online clinic at Click2Pharmacy. We have a team of prescribing pharmacists that can check if the medication is suitable for you. All you have to do is to fill out a consultation form. If you have any questions or concerns, we are here to help.”

Epiduo gel is a topical prescription-only medication designed to treat mild to moderate acne. It contains two active ingredients: adapalene and benzoyl peroxide. It is available in two different strengths: 0.1%/0.25% and 0.3/0.25%. These ingredients work together to clear your skin and prevent future breakouts.

What is Epiduo Gel used for?

Epiduo is primarily used to treat mild to moderate acne, including pimples, blackheads, and whiteheads. It’s a go-to treatment for those who need something stronger than standard over-the-counter options.

The gel is effective against acne vulgaris, which is the medical term for common acne. This includes various types of acne, like pimples, blackheads, and whiteheads.

Who is Epiduo acne treatment suitable for?

Epiduo is suitable for adults and children over 9 years old. It’s designed to work on all skin types but is particularly effective for those with oily skin.

If you’re allergic to adapalene or benzoyl peroxide, you should avoid using Epiduo. Also, if you have other skin conditions like eczema, consult a GP or pharmacist before starting treatment.

How does Epiduo Gel for acne work?

Epiduo contains adapalene and benzoyl peroxide. Adapalene helps your skin renew itself and unclogs pores. Benzoyl peroxide kills acne-causing bacteria and has a mild drying effect of washing away excess oils and dirt

Results can vary, but you may start to see improvements in as little as two weeks. However, it’s common to experience the full benefits after up to three months of regular use.

How to Use Epiduo Gel

Follow this step-by-step guide on how to apply Epiduo gel:

  • Wash your hands before and after use
  • Wash your face with a mild cleanser.
  • Pat your face dry gently.
  • Apply a pea-sized amount of Epiduo on your chin, forehead, and each cheek.
  • Rub the gel in gently and let it dry.

It’s best to apply Epiduo at night as it can make your skin more sensitive to the sun. Make sure your skin is clean and dry before application. A small amount is effective, so don’t overuse it.

What are the side effects of Epiduo Gel?

The side effects below affect between 1% and 10% of people:

  • Dry skin
  • Skin peeling
  • Contact dermatitis
  • Irritation and burning of the skin
  • Worsening of acne

You can minimise these side effects by using a non-comedogenic moisturiser and reducing the frequency of applying Epiduo gel until the skin becomes used to the medicine. Within the first 4 weeks of use, you may experience skin purging, where the skin looks worse before it starts to look better. Skin purging is part of the process of the renewal of skin cells.

If you experience any severe side effects listed below, you should stop using Epiduo prescription gel immediately and seek medical help.

  • Severe rash
  • Dizziness
  • Trouble breathing

For a full list of side effects, please read the patient information leaflet.

After refusal of doctors appointment same old same old ring back etc. I was invited at 5.25 to see doctor I drove over immediately. Everything fully explained and checked over I was leaving by 6pm with penicillin for strep throat. Had I followed my doctors receptionist I would probably have suffered longer and increased the chances of a worse infection.I Great efficient service.
