What Is Micropore Surgical Tape Used For?

It is also commonly used for secondary securement of lightweight IV lines and non-critical medical tubing.

How to Use Micropore Surgical Tape

1. Clean and dry the skin area thoroughly before applying the tape.
2. Select the appropriate width (1.25cm, 2.5cm, or 5cm) and tear or cut the required length.
3. Place the dressing over the wound and apply the tape along the edges.
4. Press the tape firmly to ensure the adhesive bonds correctly with the skin.
5. To remove, loosen the leading edge and peel “low and slow” in the direction of hair growth.

Do not tension or stretch the tape during application. Applying tape under tension can cause skin shearing and painful blisters.
