About Noriday Contraceptive Pill

Noriday Contraceptive Pill is a progestogen-only contraceptive pill (POP) containing norethisterone 350 micrograms. It is used to prevent pregnancy without containing oestrogen, making it suitable for women who cannot take combined hormonal contraception.

Noriday works in several ways to provide reliable contraception: it thickens the cervical mucus to stop sperm entering the womb, changes the lining of the womb to prevent implantation, and sometimes stops the release of an egg.

Noriday is taken every day without a break and is available in the following pack sizes:

• Noriday – 84 tablets

What Is Noriday Contraceptive Pill Used For?

Noriday is used for long-term prevention of pregnancy. It provides reliable contraception for women who prefer or require a progestogen-only pill and do not wish to use combined oestrogen-containing contraceptives.

Who Is Noriday Contraceptive Pill Suitable For?

Noriday may be suitable for women who:

• Cannot take oestrogen-containing contraceptives
• Are breastfeeding (after medical advice)
• Prefer a daily, reversible method of contraception

Do not take Noriday if you:

• Are allergic to norethisterone or any ingredients
• Are pregnant or think you may be pregnant
• Have current or past hormone-dependent cancers
• Have severe liver disease or liver tumours
• Have unexplained vaginal bleeding
• Have thrombosis or inflamed veins
• Have heart disease or history of stroke

How to Take Noriday Tablets

1. Start taking on the first day of your period.
2. Take one tablet daily at the same time each day.
3. Swallow with water.
4. Follow the arrows on the blister pack.
5. Start the next pack immediately after finishing the previous one (no pill-free break).

Use condoms for the first 7 days when starting your first pack.

What To Do If You Miss a Pill

• If you are more than 3 hours late, take the missed pill as soon as you remember.
• Take the next pill at the normal time.
• Use condoms for the next 7 days.

Possible Side Effects of Noriday

Common side effects may include:

• Irregular bleeding or spotting
• Headache
• Nausea or stomach upset
• Breast tenderness
• Weight changes

Serious symptoms – seek urgent medical help if you experience:

• Yellowing of skin or eyes (jaundice)
• Sudden chest pain or shortness of breath
• Severe headache, vision problems, or fainting
• Severe pain in one leg

Warnings and Precautions

Speak to your doctor before using Noriday if you have:

• Diabetes or family history of diabetes
• Migraines
• High blood pressure
• Liver problems
• Depression
• Epilepsy, asthma, or heart or kidney problems

Noriday contains lactose monohydrate.
