About Zoely Contraceptive Pill

Zoely Contraceptive Pill is a combined oral contraceptive used to prevent pregnancy. It contains nomegestrol acetate 2.5 mg (a progestogen) and estradiol 1.5 mg (an oestrogen) in the active tablets. Estradiol is identical to the natural oestrogen produced by the ovaries.

Each blister pack contains 28 tablets:

• 24 white active tablets containing hormones
• 4 yellow placebo tablets with no active hormones

What Is Zoely Contraceptive Pill Used For?

Zoely is used for long term oral contraception to prevent pregnancy by stopping ovulation, thickening cervical mucus, and altering the lining of the womb to reduce the chance of implantation.

Who Is Zoely Suitable For?

Zoely is suitable for women who require reliable, long term combined oral contraception.

Do not use Zoely if you:

• Have or have had blood clots (DVT, PE, heart attack, stroke)
• Have migraine with aura
• Have current or previous breast or genital cancers
• Have severe liver disease or liver tumours
• Have unexplained vaginal bleeding
• Have a meningioma or have had one in the past
• Are allergic to estradiol, nomegestrol acetate, or any ingredients

Speak to a healthcare professional before use if you:

• Smoke and are over 35 years old
• Have high blood pressure, diabetes, or high cholesterol
• Have epilepsy, Crohn’s disease, lupus, or gallbladder disease
• Have depression or mood changes
• Recently gave birth or are due to have surgery

How to Use Zoely Contraceptive Pill

1. Take one tablet daily at the same time with water if needed.
2. Follow the arrows on the blister: 24 white tablets first, then 4 yellow tablets.
3. Your withdrawal bleed usually starts during the 4 yellow tablets.
4. Start the next pack immediately after the last yellow tablet.

If you vomit within 3–4 hours of taking a white active tablet or have severe diarrhoea, take another tablet as soon as possible.

Possible Side Effects of Zoely

Very common side effects:

• Acne
• Changes in periods (absence or irregular bleeding)

Common side effects:

• Headache or migraine
• Nausea
• Breast or pelvic pain
• Mood changes or depression
• Weight gain

Rare but serious:

• Blood clots in veins or arteries
• Heart attack or stroke

Warnings and Precautions

• Does not protect against HIV or sexually transmitted infections.
• Risk of blood clots is higher in the first year of use.
• Higher risk if you smoke, are overweight, or have a family history of clots.
• Contains lactose.

Storage Instructions

• No special storage conditions required.
• Do not use after the expiry date.
• Keep out of sight and reach of children.
