Telfast 30mg is a non-drowsy antihistamine used to relieve hay fever symptoms like sneezing, runny or blocked nose, and itchy or watery eyes in children aged 6 to 11 years.
Telfast contains fexofenadine hydrochloride, a type of antihistamine. It works by blocking histamine, which is the substance in the body responsible for allergic symptoms like sneezing, a runny nose, and watery eyes. Unlike some other antihistamines, Telfast is less likely to cause drowsiness, making it suitable for daytime use.
Telfast tablets start working within an hour and provide all-day relief without causing drowsiness.
Telfast is the paediatric formulation of fexofenadine – the same active ingredient used in adult Telfast and Allevia – and is designed specifically for children’s needs, offering safe, reliable allergy control.
Telfast Kids is suitable for children aged 6-11 years with seasonal allergies.
Do not use Telfast if your child:
Speak to your doctor or pharmacist before use if your child has underlying medical conditions or is taking indigestion remedies containing aluminium or magnesium, as they may reduce absorption of Telfast.
If you miss a dose, do not double up. Simply continue with the next scheduled dose.
Telfast is well tolerated and unlikely to cause drowsiness. Like any medication, Telfast can cause side effects, but they are usually mild and temporary.
