TriRegol is a triphasic combined oral contraceptive pill used to prevent pregnancy. It contains two active ingredients: ethinylestradiol (an oestrogen) and levonorgestrel (a progestogen). Unlike monophasic pills, TriRegol provides three different dose levels of these hormones across the 21-day cycle, designed to mimic the natural hormonal fluctuations of a woman’s body. When taken correctly, TriRegol is over 99% effective at preventing pregnancy. It is commonly prescribed to women who require reliable contraception and may also help with regulating periods, reducing heavy bleeding, and alleviating menstrual cramps. Other ingredients include: Lactose monohydrate, maize starch, povidone K30, magnesium stearate, colloidal anhydrous silica, talc, calcium carbonate, and sucrose. Colouring agents include titanium dioxide (E171), red iron oxide (E172) in pink tablets, and yellow iron oxide (E172) in ochre tablets.
