Drovelis is a combined oral contraceptive pill (COCP) used for the prevention of pregnancy. It is the first “native” estrogen pill, containing estetrol (a plant-derived estrogen) and drospirenone. This combination works primarily by inhibiting ovulation, increasing the thickness of cervical mucus to prevent sperm entry, and thinning the endometrial lining. Each blister pack contains 24 active pink tablets and 4 white placebo tablets to help you stay on track with your daily routine.

Who Is Drovelis Suitable For?

Drovelis is designed for women who require daily oral contraception.

Do not use Drovelis if you:

• Have (or have ever had) a blood clot in the legs (DVT), lungs (PE), or other organs
• Have a blood clotting disorder (e.g., protein C/S deficiency, Factor V Leiden)
• Are scheduled for major surgery or will be immobilized for a long period
• Have had a heart attack, stroke, or angina pectoris
• Have “migraine with aura”
• Have severe liver disease, kidney failure, or tumors of the liver/breast/genitals

Speak to a healthcare professional before use if you:

• Smoke or are overweight (BMI over 30)
• Have high blood pressure, diabetes, or high cholesterol
• Have Crohn’s disease or ulcerative colitis
• Have systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE)
• Experience depression or mood changes

Ingredients

Pink Active Tablets:

• Active Ingredients: Estetrol monohydrate (equivalent to 14.2mg estetrol) and 3mg Drospirenone.
• Tablet Core: Lactose monohydrate, sodium starch glycolate, maize starch, povidone K30, magnesium stearate (E470b).
• Tablet Coating: Hypromellose (E464), hydroxypropylcellulose (E463), talc (E553b), cottonseed oil (hydrogenated), titanium dioxide (E171), iron oxide red (E172).

White Placebo Tablets:

• Tablet Core: Lactose monohydrate, maize starch, magnesium stearate (E470b).
• Tablet Coating: Hypromellose (E464), hydroxypropylcellulose (E463), talc (E553b), cottonseed oil (hydrogenated), titanium dioxide (E171).

How to Take Drovelis Tablets

1. Take one tablet daily at roughly the same time. You can take it with or without water, but do not chew it.
2. Follow the arrows on the blister pack, starting with pink active tablets (Days 1–24).
3. Move to the white placebo tablets (Days 25–28) immediately after.
4. A withdrawal bleed usually starts during the white tablet days.
5. Apply the correct week-day sticker to the blister pack to help you remember if you have taken your pill.

Possible Side Effects of Drovelis

Common side effects (may affect up to 1 in 10 women):

• Mood disturbances and libido changes
• Headache or migraine
• Abdominal pain or nausea
• Acne
• Breast pain, tenderness, or painful periods
• Weight fluctuations

Warnings and Precautions

• Blood Clots: Like all combined pills, Drovelis slightly increases the risk of blood clots. Seek medical help immediately if you notice swelling in one leg, sudden breathlessness, or chest pain.
• Missed Pills: If you miss a pink tablet by more than 24 hours, contraceptive protection may be reduced. Refer to the patient information leaflet for specific “Day 1-24” instructions.
• Lactose: Contains lactose. If you have an intolerance to some sugars, contact your doctor before taking.
