Allopurinol Tablets contain the active ingredient allopurinol, a xanthine oxidase inhibitor used to prevent or lower high uric acid levels in the blood. It is designed to treat and prevent conditions caused by a buildup of uric acid, such as gout, gouty arthritis, and kidney stones. By decreasing the amount of uric acid produced by the body, Allopurinol helps prevent the painful joint inflammation associated with gout flare-ups.
