About Levest Contraceptive Pill

Levest Contraceptive Pill is a combined oral contraceptive that contains two female hormones: levonorgestrel 150 micrograms and ethinylestradiol 30 micrograms. It provides reliable, reversible protection against pregnancy when taken correctly.

Levest works by preventing the release of an egg from the ovaries, thickening cervical mucus to stop sperm reaching the egg, and thinning the lining of the womb to reduce the chance of implantation. This triple action makes it a highly effective form of contraception.

Levest is a 21-day pill taken once daily for 21 consecutive days, followed by a 7-day pill-free break. A withdrawal bleed similar to a period usually occurs during the break.
