What is Pyrocalm Control?

Pyrocalm Control contains omeprazole 20mg, a proton pump inhibitor (PPI). It reduces stomach acid and is used in adults for the short-term treatment of reflux symptoms such as heartburn and acid regurgitation. It is not for immediate relief, and may take 2–3 days to work.

What is Pyrocalm Control used for?

Frequent heartburn (two or more times a week)
Acid reflux and regurgitation

It should be taken once daily for up to 14 days. If symptoms persist or return, speak to a doctor or pharmacist.

How does Pyrocalm Control work?

Blocks stomach acid pumps: Targets proton pumps in the stomach lining.
Reduces acid levels: Helps relieve reflux and allows healing of irritation.

Who is Pyrocalm Control suitable for?

For adults aged 18 years and over with frequent reflux symptoms.

Do not take if you:

Are allergic to omeprazole or other PPIs
Are taking nelfinavir (for HIV)

Speak to a doctor before use if you:

Have weight loss, difficulty swallowing, persistent pain, vomiting blood or black stools
Have liver problems or are over 55 with new or changed symptoms
Are pregnant or breastfeeding

How to take Pyrocalm Control

Take one 20mg tablet once daily, preferably in the morning.
Swallow whole with water – do not chew or crush.
Relief usually begins after 2–3 days.
Do not take for more than 14 days without medical advice.

Other Ingredients: Lactose, maize starch, hypromellose, hydroxypropyl cellulose, macrogol, talc, titanium dioxide (E171), and other excipients. Contains lactose.
